[Audio] A Little Traveling Music Please
Greetings, fellow convoy-ers. ...okay that didn't sound right ANYWAY-
I've been thinking we need better jammy-jams than whatever haunted soundtracks the Convoy decides to play for us, because even the worst of road trips needs some sort of music to help hold us over.
...of course since it's limited to whatever MP3s I've got on my phone, I hope that at least some of you have a taste for techno and eighties pop music. But if anyone else has happened to have some of their own music on hand, I will be happy to add it to the collection.
Ah, you say, but Donatello- how will we listen to your amazing tracklist? We've sorely neglected the localized radio network for other potentials- don't get me wrong, it's important getting the creepy messages whenever the thing picks them up, and yes, communication is a priority, but porque no las tres?
You are welcome to tune into the station, frequency seven-three-three-seven, at any time, barring any power outages of course.

...want someone to go with?

[That was a really good question, and he was taking the appropriate amount of time to think about it. Part of him was concerned with his pride. The other part of him didn't give a shit about pride and wanted to cling to safety in numbers.]
I wouldn't say no to company.
[By which he meant yes, absolutely, he wanted someone to go with him.]
no subject
Sure thing. Where can I find you?
no subject
By the road. I mean, not too far from the convoy, towards the farms. I was looking around a bit.
[And he hadn't wanted to get too close to the farm land, so he'd been lingering close enough to the convoy that he could duck back into its safety if something unexpected happened.]

[A pause.]
And thanks. I appreciate it.

((OOC: Handwave or continue?))
no subject
Alright. I'll be here.
[And he would be, because tangling with the shit in the fields once had been enough and he didn't want to tempt fate or cross the wrong area of the fields or--he at least didn't want to risk anything while alone.]
no subject
[Donnie takes care not to fly too high, but having an intent helps as he scans the grounds below, and keeps a look out for any movement, particularly from the aforementioned crows.
But it's not hard for him to spy Andrew where he is, and he circles as he comes down to give the other a chance to see him before he lands.]
no subject
As oblivious as he could be, he was expecting Donnie to show up at some point, so he was actually paying attention to his surroundings. He caught side of the flying turtle before he got close enough that Andrew would've been startled--which would have been all on Andrew. He didn't usually blame other people when he got startled, unless they'd gone out of their way to scare him.
He waved, so Donnie would know he'd seen him. And then he waited until he was within earshot before saying something.]
So how is it, actually--having wings?
no subject
It's... Well, it takes some getting used to. Flying is great, but sometimes the wings get in the way.
no subject
Watching Donnie make his landing, Andrew nodded.]
I bet, yeah. I'd probably sit on the damn things all the time if I had wings. But being able to fly does sound great.
[Partially because it could double as a way to rapidly eject himself from social situations he didn't want to linger in. But also, being up above everything else sounded like a way he might be able to actually clear his head.]
no subject
It takes some work making sure I don't when I have to drive, that's for sure. Even more so with a tail- now that, I have definitely sat on one time too many!
[He jerks his head towards the farmhouse, turning but not starting along until Andrew's good to go.]
But I've always enjoyed flying. Of course back home it was tech-assisted, so flying on my own power is...weird? But the rush is still the same, when there's nothing between you and the sky, and I can go as fast and high as I want.
no subject
[Pun entirely intended for a change.
He stopped most of his fidgeting when Donnie jerked his head, going over to fall into step next to him. Which also meant it was a bit obvious he didn't want to lead, lest he lead them too close to a field while he was distracted by something or other.]
Yeah? Flying with tech's gotta be badass, too. Being up there though, either way, I feel like- I feel like that'd be a hell of a perspective change.
[Literally, figuratively, all of the -ly's. He'd like to see- well, maybe he wasn't in a rush to experience it himself, considering his recently discovered fear of heights, but maybe it'd be different too, if he knew he wasn't going to plummet to his doom with one wrong step.]
no subject
Donnie's fine with leading, that tail of his casually snaking behind him as he walks. It's always weird walking, the position of his legs with the bird feet grown out forcing him to lean forward to keep himself balanced.]
It can be, yeah. I'm used to flying between and over buildings in New York, so having so much of nothing around to have to be aware of is almost overwhelming. But once you get over that, it's incredible.
no subject
Oh, yeah. I bet this is a big change, compared to a city like that. Columbus's got some good buildings, but New York's on a different level.
[Nashville was big, too, but if he had a choice which one he'd talk about, it'd always be Columbus.]
Probably better to appreciate the stars and shit, too. Less light pollution and everything.
[Also it was probably quieter. Even being up high in the sky, city noises tended to travel.]
no subject
[He hadn't been used to such open skies.]
Oh it's true though. The night sky is amazing! Just have to not think about how the moon is falling apart.
no subject
[He'd actually managed to forget, for a moment, about the moon falling apart and being the cause of all the shit they were going through. He didn't blame the moon so much anymore, since he'd heard it was the cult or whatever that had led to it getting all fucked up in the first place.]
That's always been one of the few good things about anywhere rural. Being able to see the night sky better. Preferably without the moon causing a shit ton of chaos, but.
[It was what it was, and they were working on it.]
no subject
Out here hasn't been so bad. Weirdly quiet, still not used to this level of quiet, but... it's nice. I think we needed it. Some downtime.
no subject
anxiousrestless and uneasy.]Well, mostly quiet.
[His not-so-fun-time in the fields earlier had definitely not been quiet, even if most of the ruckus at times had been the sound of his blood rushing in his ears.]
Downtime is good, though, even if things happening a lot can be good sometimes, too.
[But it could also become too much, too easily.]
But not like a few weeks ago. Needed to catch my breath after that.
no subject
[He supposes there's no denying that things still happen around here. There's never any place that's been truly safe.
The turtle shudders at the reminder of a few weeks ago, clearly having feelings there that he didn't care to revisit.]
Never again.
no subject
[Which Andrew took as a cue to change the subject. He didn't want to revisit most of the last month, either, and unless he was angry or had a damn good reason, he didn't usually press subjects like that.]
So, which one of these places looks the most like they had someone who enjoyed playing guitar living in 'em?
[He didn't think they were going to be able to tell from the outsides, unless it was something ridiculous and obvious, but it was a better thing to focus on, he figured.]
no subject
I'd say we have some pretty good odds. Aside from the weirdly technical moon-monitoring installations, maybe music was their most accessible entertainment.
no subject
[Right, all the telescopes and stuff that some of the houses had. As curious as Andrew'd been, he'd avoided getting too caught up with looking through any of that stuff so far. He could see the moon just fine with his own eyes and no help.]
Maybe. Music'd probably be a pretty good distraction from everything else. And who knows how long the radios have been such a mess.
[And the world in general. If you couldn't listen to someone else's music, making your own was a more than acceptable alternative.]
Music's almost always a good distraction. Somebody here had to have some zest for playing guitar.
no subject
Guitar's the easiest thing to have around too, right? Or...maybe a banjo.
[He perks a bit, his steps slowing as he spies some movement in the trees just behind the house they're approaching, sharp eyes picking out the black feathered bodies perched in the branches.]
Got some of those crows over there. Want me to scare them off before they try to make trouble?
