I need help.
[ It's not the kind of comment one might normally expect out of Blake; usually so independant, and reluctant to rely on others for help. But there's a barely restrained panic in her voice that she's only mostly keeping under control as she tries to be clinical and informative about what she's facing. ]
My friend, Yang... some of you will know her. Lots of blonde hair, prosthetic, yellow muscle car. Likes to make dumb puns.
She-- she fell asleep and won't wake up again. I think she's turning into a Husk. There's a layer of metal on her skin and hair.
[ A pause as Blake audibly draws breath to compose herself. ]
Do we know anything about how to reverse the process?

Some company might be nice, actually. Even if it's just to sit next to my van and defend it from monsters. I... don't know if Yang's state will attract more monsters than usual, but I'm not taking any chances.

[There’s a sound like something whooshing over the radio.]
Just gimme a sec to find you.

I'm near the back of the convoy. My stupid campervan can't go very fast, so... I'm pretty much always playing catch up.

[And then there is a matching whoosh as Leo steps through a shimmering portal not far from Blake’s van.]
Hey!
no subject
Needless to say, she startles when a portal appears and Leo steps through, eyes wide. ]
That's new? When did you start doing that? Could you always do that?

[He can see what Blake meant now, about Yang becoming a husk; the eerie stillness is unsettling, given what he knows of her. His eyes turn sad for a moment, before he tries to shake that off for Blake's sake.]
I'm guessing she hasn't changed at all.

Blake glances back at Yang, too. It's wrong to see Yang so still, so lifeless. She's normally the life of the party, one of those people that brighten up every room they walk into. ]
No. She just... fell asleep, and then the metal grew in. Nothing about her moves, but I can only assume she's still alive.

...Well, we'll keep her close. So she'll see smiling faces when she finally wakes up.
[He hopes that's soon. He hopes she doesn't just... disappear, like some people have. He doesn't know what happened to them, the ones who are gone. He wonders if it's too much to wish they just went home.]

[ As they're currently parked in a big city, Blake tilts her head up, gazing up at the skyscrapers around them. She huffs a laugh. ]
She'll be mad if she misses this, actually. She always struck me as a big city person. You know, nightclubs, lots of people, that kind of thing. Have you explored here, yet?
no subject
I have, and, uh... not a lot of nightlife going on here, unless you count the usual monsters.
[He sighs, letting his own eyes trail up to the skyscrapers above them.]
I'm from a city like this. Well, not like this, but... [He shrugs.] Yang would like it.
no subject
[ Other than the monsters, of course. But there's no cars driving on the roads, no bustle of people, no sounds other than the wildlife and the wind and the creaking of older buildings. ]
I know I should be helping out with the convoy, but... I don't really want to leave Yang's side.

[And isn't this like what they said before? Leo folds his arms over his chest as he remembers a different conversation, awhile ago.]
Me and Dee... kiiinda chickened out of one of the fights awhile back. When there was that big tower thing? [He shrugs.] I told him then that this is why there's so many of us, right? So we can cover for each other when someone else can't go out.
[That's not exactly what he said then, but he'll phrase it this way for Blake now.]
no subject
Exactly. Strength in numbers, right?
[ It does, at least, make Blake feel a little better about staying here. ]
There's got to be a lot of interesting stuff in this city, though. The remnants of all those lives. It could give us a good look at how people used to live before whatever calamity happened here.

[He knows she was looking at some of the books and journals from this world before.]
