In the interest of clarity for new arrivals, myself among them, I have a few questions that may seem blatantly obvious to everyone who's been here longer.

Am I understanding correctly that many of us here are being transformed into something else, much like the rain's temporary effects had on us recently?

Is this likely to happen to everyone?

Does it have anything to do with the brands we have been given? 'Runes'

Does anyone know how to repair a broken driver's side window for a M939 truck?

Finally, if you are obviously nonhuman, changed or naturally so, please leave a note as to what you look like so I know you are considered an ally and not an active threat.

Given the creatures that attacked in the storm, and earlier messages suggesting they may have once 'been like us', I do not wish to make a mistake.

I've heard it gets much worse, particularly when moon pieces fall to the ground. Still wrapping my head around that one.

the monsters don't look human and they never talk. they also always attack immediately, so you're probably better classifying anyone who isn't being hostile as not an active threat.

[Individual people might still be a threat, but going by who's human and who's doesn't really work anymore.]

Yes, we are all transforming. Information points to the brands being moon sigils, which give us 'blessings' from the moon.

Unfortunately, moon warps affect us both physically and mentally. The previous moon warp induced violent transformation and several attacked friend and foe alike. There is no guarantee we will appear as described. However, the monsters that attack us are less unique than ourselves.

I do not know if the sigils we have are related to our other forms specifically or if they are random or mean something completely unrelated. but yes we are, and sometimes it comes and goes.

I agree with the others though that you are probably fine if you simply do not attack first. if we ever meet nonviolent monsters we should not antagonize them either

You've already gotten a few answers, by the looks of it, but yes. I don't believe there is any escaping transformations. Merely delaying them, or perhaps reverting singular changes under the right circumstances.

Jayce-san and I have been gathering information regarding our circumstances, and there are at least some who consider the transformations as gifts from the moon.

Additionally, I made a post last month detailing my findings.

My current hypothesis is that the monsters that emerge from Husks used to be ordinary people, but something, be it "stasis" or some other grim fate, robbed them of their humanity. The tenants suggest that our sigils may protect us against this stasis, but bear in mind that we are working with scattered puzzle pieces, so this information is all subject to change.

Lastly, since I have changed rather distinctly, please refrain from attacking a brown haired boy covered in black feathers, with talons, large wings, and large horns. I should think my attire makes it clear that I'm not an active threat, but I'd rather err on the side of caution.

Arcane magic was part of my life's research. I've looked into the runes here and conducted an experiment we've had to abort, but I plan to organize more once I have the space to.

I won't know everything there is to know about these sigils, but I can share my findings.
