Serph remains silent for a long moment, letting Jack's words wash over him. He had already long decided to do better after his conversation with Apollo, who suggested that harm caused in one life would carry to another. But after the moon warp, the familiarity of having his close friendships break around him had made him waver.

He rests his other hand on top of Jack's, lifting both their clasped hands to press them to his forehead. His voice is steady, determined.
