Yes, I do know what those are. I lived in Japan for-- oh, two years, I think? I wore some. I have mended them, but I have never made them.

Those are in fact more like stiff socks than boots... but the toe might be more tricky. If you are patient if I do not make them right first go, I can give it a try, if you bring me the rubber soles.
