He talks even more easily in his native language, so it's probably no surprise that he keeps talking. "But you are from somewhere that seems very far away from me, and I did not expect it. Also, I admit, mostly I do not find people who know that in addition to their own language. Usually if they don't speak English, they choose that, and if they do, they don't bother to learn another language."
